Principal Software Developer – AI Data Architect

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical strategy and architecture for a scalable, AI-ready data platform.
• Define enterprise data architecture patterns, including medallion and lakehouse architectures, modeling standards, and ingestion guardrails.
• Oversee key platform projects such as schema modernization and data layer re-architecture.
• Mentor development teams and foster a culture of high engineering standards in data modeling and quality.
• Partner with Security and Product teams to define data governance, tenant isolation, and access controls.
• Architect for data observability, ensuring lineage, traceability, and reliability for audit-ready data products.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software development and data engineering.
• 5+ years in a senior technical leadership role (e.g., Principal Developer or Data Architect).
• Proven experience architecting data for AI workflows, including RAG, vector-based retrieval, and embedding pipelines.
• Extensive experience with cloud-native infrastructure, specifically AWS (S3, Glue, Lambda, EMR, etc.).
• Hands-on expertise with MongoDB, MS SQL Server, and DynamoDB.
• Experience with distributed processing tools such as Spark, Trino, or MapReduce.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, and DevOps practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with AI orchestration tools like LangGraph, Langfuse, or AWS Bedrock.
• Experience with event streaming technologies like Kafka or SNS/SQS.
• Knowledge of vector databases and specialized storage like pgvector or OpenSearch.
