About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic development of social work practice across Adults and Children’s Services
- Oversee training, recruitment, and retention strategies
- Manage a robust quality assurance programme to support continuous learning
- Take responsibility for policy, procedures, and inspection activities including CQC
- Represent the council in national and regional forums
- Advise senior leadership and provide expert guidance to practitioners
- Manage a team including a Deputy Principal Social Worker, Advanced Practitioners, and Improvement Officers
Requirements
- Social Work England registration
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Full UK driving licence
- Post-qualified experience
- Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
