Principal Scientist, Peptide Therapeutics

Responsibilities

• Execute multi-step synthesis of peptides, peptidomimetics, and novel non-commercial building blocks or scaffolds.
• Utilize expert-level skills in solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS), solution-phase organic chemistry, and specialized macrocyclization or ligation strategies.
• Oversee high-resolution analytical techniques including HPLC, Mass Spec, and NMR to ensure compound identity and high purity.
• Apply conformational analysis, structure-based design, and computational modeling to optimize potency, stability, and pharmacokinetics.
• Implement strategic SAR plans and Multi-Parameter Optimization to advance candidates from early hits to IND-enabling studies.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams and mentor junior scientists at the bench to foster technical excellence.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or a related field.
• 3+ years of relevant postdoctoral or industry experience.
• Proven mastery of both manual and automated SPPS and complex solution-phase organic synthesis.
• Deep knowledge of macrocyclic peptides and various routes of administration (IV, SC, PO).
• Proficiency with computational software such as Schrödinger, MOE, or Maestro for molecular dynamics and conformational sampling.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical data to global cross-functional stakeholders.
