Principal Scientist, Medicinal Chemistry

Responsibilities

• Devise strategies to identify and optimize lead molecules for potency, selectivity, and ADME properties
• Execute high-quality ideas using modern organic chemistry transformations and synthetic methods
• Collaborate with molecular biology, pharmacology, computational chemistry, and ADME teams
• Influence the use of computational methods and leverage automated synthesis and high-throughput experimentation
• Work with AI/ML teams to develop and implement predictive models for molecule design
• Communicate project updates to stakeholders and foster a culture of scientific excellence

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in chemistry with a focus on synthetic organic chemistry
• Experience in small molecule drug discovery in biotech or pharma
• Years of experience: 15+ for BS, 12+ for MS, or 8+ for PhD
• Proven track record of advancing programs from leads to advanced candidates
• Expertise in lead compound optimization (potency, selectivity, ADME, and PK)
• Proficiency in modern synthetic organic chemistry demonstrated via publications or patents
• Knowledge of target protein degradation (molecular glues, PROTACS)
• Experience working with computational chemists in drug target design
