Principal Scientist, Biologics Drug Discovery

Responsibilities

• Shape program plans, modality choice, and discovery cascades for biologics programs
• Drive biologics programs end-to-end from target validation through lead optimization and candidate selection
• Make informed modality decisions across antibodies, bispecifics, ADCs, and fusion proteins
• Design and oversee discovery packages including cell-based functional assays and biophysical characterization
• Partner with Computational Biology, Machine Learning, CMC, and Toxicology teams to de-risk candidates
• Manage externalized workstreams and CRO selection for biologics production and pharmacology studies
• Represent biologics drug discovery in project teams and pipeline reviews
• Collaborate with ML teams to integrate predictive and generative approaches into molecule design
• Mentor junior scientists and contribute to the development of discovery workflows

Requirements

• PhD in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Pharmacology, Cell Biology, Protein Engineering, or related life-science discipline
• Hands-on drug discovery experience in a pharma or biotech setting
• Proven track record of contributing to biologics programs through key discovery milestones
• Deep knowledge of biologics modalities and discovery cascade design
• Experience with cell-based functional assays and biophysical characterization (SPR/Biacore, BLI/Octet)
• Experience managing CROs for molecule production and in vitro/in vivo studies
• Understanding of TPP-driven decision-making and IND-enabling activities

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with bone biology and bone-microenvironment models
• Peer-reviewed publications in the biologics drug discovery space
• Experience mentoring junior scientists
• Exposure to TechBio or computationally-driven discovery environments
