Principal Sales Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and own quantitative models for designing and sizing warehouse robotics systems, including throughput simulations and ROI models
• Translate complex customer data into optimized system designs with justified recommendations
• Build and refine modeling tools, templates, and frameworks for the sales engineering team
• Lead design reviews with internal engineering teams and customer stakeholders
• Partner with account executives across the full sales cycle from qualification to close
• Lead technical discovery sessions with operations, engineering, and executive-level stakeholders
• Construct business cases and ROI analyses translating system capabilities into measurable outcomes
• Serve as the primary conduit between market-facing teams and internal engineering and product management
• Conduct ongoing competitive analysis and maintain a gap analysis framework

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in sales engineering, solutions engineering, or systems engineering within warehouse automation or supply chain technology
• Expertise building throughput models or simulation analyses for automated warehouse systems
• Deep knowledge of warehouse operations, labor management, and WMS/WCS architecture
• Proficiency with simulation or modeling tools such as AutoMod, Emulate3D, or FlexSim
• Ability to read and interpret facility drawings, floor plans, and AutoCAD files
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related technical discipline
• Willingness to travel to customer sites approximately 40–50%

Preferred Qualifications

• Custom modeling in Excel or Python
• Familiarity with WMS/WCS integration requirements (API, EDI, SOAP/REST)
• Master's degree or MBA
• Background working with 3PLs, large-format retailers, or e-commerce fulfillment operations
