Principal Rotating Engineer - Offshore

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, selection, and procurement of rotating equipment for complex offshore oil and gas projects.
• Develop discipline Basis of Design, equipment selection philosophies, and technical specifications.
• Prepare mechanical datasheets, requisitions, and conduct technical bid evaluations for rotating equipment and packages.
• Support business development through technical proposal development, cost estimation, and execution strategy.
• Participate in client workshops including design reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, and constructability reviews.
• Manage third-party vendors and oversee procurement activities, including manufacturer ITP, FAT, and inspection release.
• Provide technical oversight during the Detailed Design and EPC phases to ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure team adherence to engineering practices and HSE requirements.

Requirements

• Expert knowledge in the design and selection of rotating equipment (Centrifugal Compressors, Pumps, Rotary Compressors, Fans, etc.).
• Extensive experience in offshore oil and gas projects, specifically within the Detailed Design and EPC phases.
• Advanced knowledge of API standards, including but not limited to API-610, 617, 618, 682, 614, 674, and 675.
• Proven experience in procurement support, package management, and technical bid evaluation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams).
• Strong understanding of international codes, statutory requirements, and onshore/offshore engineering practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working on projects within the Middle East.
• Demonstrated capability in managing complex miscellaneous packages such as Chemical Injection or Dryer packages.
