Principal RF Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and develop RF jamming systems specifically tailored for countering unmanned aerial systems (UAS) threats
• Lead the architecture and detailed design of next-generation electronics, including wide-band RF circuitry and high-power RF output
• Perform schematic and PCB design using Altium, contributing to component databases and document templates
• Optimize RF system performance by analyzing interference, improving signal quality, and increasing range and reliability
• Plan and execute hardware design validation at both modular and system levels
• Mentor and train junior engineers on correct usage of test equipment and industry best practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate RF design considerations into overall system architecture
• Design manufacturing test specifications to support production setup and debugging

Requirements

• Degree in Electronics Engineering or a similar technical field
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in RF design within an engineering design team
• Expert knowledge of RF systems design, including RF link budgets and cascaded analysis for noise and non-linearities
• Substantial experience in RF circuit design (HPA, LNA, filters, diplexers, and high-speed ADC/DAC)
• Proficiency in Altium for schematic and PCB design
• Significant experience using benchtop test equipment, including VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators
• Practical understanding of PCB layout techniques and mechanical shielding for high-speed digital and RF circuitry

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with RF CAD tools such as Microwave Office, ADS, or CST
• Experience conducting antenna measurements and characterization
• Knowledge of RF and DSP architectures used with Software Defined Radio (SDR)
• Familiarity with high-power RF amplifier linearization techniques
• Experience with technical team leadership and mentoring
• Knowledge of mainstream RF modulation techniques and multi-carrier combining
