Principal Reservoir Engineer

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for tight gas, providing guidance on reservoir characterization, stimulation, and production forecasting.
• Act as Technical Authority (TA2) for reservoir engineering to ensure adherence to Shell standards and technical integrity.
• Lead hydrocarbon resource estimation, classification, and reporting in compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.
• Oversee high-quality reservoir simulation modelling, analytical evaluations, and uncertainty management.
• Manage HSSE-critical activities, including pore pressure prediction and H2S risk management.
• Influence asset development strategies and long-term portfolio plans to support investment decisions.
• Lead and coach reservoir engineering talent to foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Interface with JV partners, regulators, and internal technical authorities to ensure alignment across subsurface and operations.

Requirements

• Degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
• 20+ years of professional experience in Reservoir Engineering.
• Demonstrated expertise in tight gas and unconventional reservoirs.
• Mandatory certification as a Reservoir Engineering TA2.
• Proven experience working in Joint Venture (JV) environments and managing complex asset portfolios.
