Principal Research Engineer

Responsibilities

• Execute highly specialized technical, business development, and leadership activities
• Provide advanced expertise in modeling, simulation, and flight control
• Submit government proposals and engage in commercial client outreach
• Lead commercial consulting contracts and manage multiple contracts including budgets and deliverables
• Manage and mentor junior engineers and staff engineers
• Serve as Principal Investigator (PI) on commercial and government programs
• Oversee the development of new IP and technical initiatives
• Develop test protocols, collect and analyze data, and create detailed reports

Requirements

• Bachelor's and Master's degree in Engineering with 10+ years of experience, or Ph.D. with 5 years of experience
• Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or Applied Mathematics
• Proven experience in Modeling and Simulation, dynamics, and controls theory
• Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink and Python
• Experience with stability and control system design and assessment
• Required experience in the aerospace industry

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of C/C++
• UAS / UAM experience
• Supervisory skills
• Extensive flight test experience for assessing vehicle performance and handling qualities
