Principal Reliability Engineer

Responsibilities

• Drive the reliability strategy, standards development, and testing for HP's compute portfolio
• Establish reliability goals and validation strategies for new notebook and desktop architectures
• Design and oversee accelerated and environmental stress testing protocols, including HALT and HASS
• Provide expert root cause and failure analysis for complex electrical and mechanical issues
• Utilize statistical analysis methods to predict field failure rates and manage warranty risks
• Lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with ODMs to ensure hardware adheres to reliability standards

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a STEM field (Reliability, Materials, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering)
• 10+ years of experience in reliability modeling, hardware validation, or product engineering
• Expertise in life modeling using Arrhenius and Coffin-Manson models
• Advanced proficiency in statistical Design of Experiments (DOE) and Taguchi methods
• Proficiency with reliability data analysis software such as ReliaSoft, JMP, or Minitab
• Proven track record of delivering high-volume consumer or commercial electronics

Preferred Qualifications

• ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) certification
• Experience establishing and revising reliability standards and procedures
• Experience in process creation and documentation
