About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the research and development of single-use electrophysiology catheters, focusing on design concept development, prototyping, and testing
- Serve as the subject-matter expert for Nitinol (NiTi), guiding alloy selection, superelastic behavior, heat-setting, and surface finishing processes
- Plan, schedule, and lead complex technical workstreams for early feasibility, clinical, and commercial product development programs
- Collaborate with process development and manufacturing engineering to ensure robust, scalable Nitinol processing methods
- Lead technical teams through structured problem-solving and ensure quality system compliance for medical device development
- Participate in preclinical evaluations, physician engagement activities, and the submission of intellectual property
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Biomedical Engineering
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience with a BS, 6+ years with an MS, or 4+ years with a PhD in medical device R&D
- Demonstrated hands-on experience designing and processing Nitinol components for medical devices
- Proven experience leading and managing complex technical workstreams within a large program
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the design of electromechanical systems
- Prior experience in electrophysiology systems or high-voltage therapy delivery device development
- Proficiency in structured problem-solving techniques and computational modeling
- Experience with design for manufacturability and collaborating with suppliers on Nitinol-based components
