About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for highways and infrastructure projects
- Monitor and control costs throughout the entire project lifecycle
- Assist with the preparation of tender documentation, bills of quantities, and procurement strategies
- Manage and administer contracts, primarily using NEC forms, including variations, claims, and dispute resolution
- Prepare and present cost reports, CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliation), and financial forecasts to stakeholders
- Liaise with clients, project managers, and design teams to resolve commercial issues promptly
- Identify risks and opportunities and implement value engineering strategies to optimize project outcomes
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or equivalent role within highways or civil engineering projects
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial management processes
- Proficiency with digital cost management tools and ERP systems
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and with various stakeholders

- Relevant professional qualifications or chartership
