Principal Quantity Surveyor

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for highways and infrastructure projects
• Monitor and control costs throughout the entire project lifecycle
• Assist with the preparation of tender documentation, bills of quantities, and procurement strategies
• Manage and administer contracts, primarily using NEC forms, including variations, claims, and dispute resolution
• Prepare and present cost reports, CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliation), and financial forecasts to stakeholders
• Liaise with clients, project managers, and design teams to resolve commercial issues promptly
• Identify risks and opportunities and implement value engineering strategies to optimize project outcomes

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or equivalent role within highways or civil engineering projects
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial management processes
• Proficiency with digital cost management tools and ERP systems
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and with various stakeholders
