About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical quality authority for designated products, processes, and suppliers in a high-mix, low-volume aerospace setting.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts to reduce variation and enhance process capability.
- Direct RCCA investigations using structured problem-solving methods such as 8D, 5-Why, and Ishikawa.
- Oversee supplier quality activities, including audits, SCARs, and performance reviews across a global network.
- Provide technical oversight for inspection plans, First Article Inspections (FAI), and conformance strategies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to mitigate quality risks.
- Support MRB activity for nonconformances, including risk-based dispositions.
- Track and report on quality metrics, trends, and customer quality concerns.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in quality assurance or quality engineering.
- 7+ years of dedicated Quality Engineering experience within aerospace or manufacturing.
- Proficiency in RCCA and structured problem-solving (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa).
- Strong familiarity with FAI, technical drawings, GD&T, and nonconformance management.
- Advanced command of ISO 9001 quality systems.
- Experience with supplier quality, including audits and performance management.
- Working familiarity with inspection technologies such as CMM, PCMM, or Romer/FARO arms.
- Ability to work onsite in Cincinnati, Ohio.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field.
- Experience with AS9100 or aerospace-specific customer quality requirements.
- Background in APQP, SPC, and advanced quality planning.
- Certifications such as CQE, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or ISO 9001/AS9100 Lead Auditor.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Epicor preferred).
