Principal Quality Assurance Engineer

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary quality interface between suppliers and Renesas to ensure alignment with quality requirements.
• Lead investigations into quality excursions using structured problem-solving methodologies like 8D.
• Drive effective corrective and preventive actions to closure.
• Maintain and execute the supplier audit program and support site certification activities.
• Provide quality leadership in the evaluation and qualification of new subcontractors for Automotive, Industrial, and Commercial markets.
• Analyze quality trends and manage improvement projects to drive continuous improvement at subcontractor sites.
• Deliver supplier quality training and deploy best-known practices across manufacturing operations.

Requirements

• Degree in electrical engineering or a relevant field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in supplier quality management, including supplier selection and manufacturing excursion response.
• Proven experience in semiconductor processes, specifically Assembly, Test, and Post Test.
• Hands-on experience with problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone analysis.
• Third-party audit certification for ISO9001 and IATF16949.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with internal and external functional groups.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or knowledge of advanced semiconductor packaging (e.g., WLCSP).
• Knowledge and practical use of VDA6.3.
• Proven ability to influence suppliers and drive timely resolution of quality issues.
• Experience working in a regional or global supplier quality environment.
