About the role
Responsibilities
- Define and own the multi-year product strategy for the Health & Pharma vertical, including HCP targeting, DTC activation, and health identity.
- Identify white-space opportunities in emerging formats such as retail health, connected devices, and CTV.
- Drive the architecture of compliance and privacy frameworks in partnership with Legal, Privacy, and Policy teams.
- Define technical requirements for back-end systems, APIs, and data pipelines supporting health-specific data ingestion and identity resolution.
- Lead product integration strategies for new health data partnerships and ecosystem alliances.
- Serve as the internal authority on regulatory landscapes including HIPAA, FDA promotional guidelines, and NAI standards.
- Represent The Trade Desk as a thought leader with pharma brand leadership, agency holding groups, and industry bodies.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in digital media, adtech, or martech.
- 8+ years of deep, hands-on experience in healthcare media and marketing (HCP and DTC strategy).
- Expert knowledge of regulatory environments: HIPAA, HITECH, FDA promotional guidelines (OPDP), and NAI health data standards.
- Deep understanding of the health media data landscape, including health-native DSPs and specialty providers like IQVIA or Veeva.
- Technical fluency in API design, data pipeline architecture, and identity graphs.
- Proven track record of influencing executive-level stakeholders and delivering platform-level product strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active participation in industry forums such as Pharma Marketing Network or DTC National.
- Familiarity with FDA/FTC enforcement actions and regulatory guidance updates within the pharma advertising industry.
