Principal Product Analyst

Responsibilities

• Act as a Business Analyst and Product Analyst for enterprise Data Governance initiatives, focusing on metadata management, data quality, security, and lineage
• Collaborate with data governance leads, business SMEs, and engineers to gather and manage requirements for governance tools and programs
• Lead stakeholder sessions to capture needs across Metadata Management, Data Quality, and Data Security
• Develop user stories, process flows, and use cases for platforms such as Collibra or Informatica
• Define scope, success criteria, and KPIs for governance tool implementations and enhancements
• Partner with engineering teams to translate requirements into technical design specifications and delivery roadmaps
• Drive sprint-level execution by facilitating backlog grooming, user story refinement, and feature acceptance reviews
• Support the evaluation of vendor solutions and conduct proof-of-concepts (PoCs)

Requirements

• 12 to 17 years of business analyst experience specifically for enterprise Data Governance platforms and programs
• Experience with tools such as Collibra, Informatica Axon/EDC, or Alation
• Knowledge of the data lifecycle and principles of data quality, security, metadata, and lineage
• Experience in pharma/biotech business functions, preferably in R&D or Commercial Organizations (GCO)
• Proficiency in Agile/Scrum development processes and backlog management using JIRA or Azure DevOps
• Strong ability to author business requirement documents, process diagrams, and RACI charts

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry certifications in data governance or data management (e.g., DCAM, CDMP)
• Understanding of data protection regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and CCPA
• Experience with cloud-based data architectures including AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Strong analytical skills with working knowledge of SQL or data profiling tools
• Exposure to enterprise MDM, data stewardship workflows, and metadata repositories
