About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical interface between hardware architecture and facility engineering for power, grounding, shielding, and EMI.
- Develop top-level specifications for facility electrical power systems, including distribution architecture and redundancy.
- Analyze and mitigate electrical noise, harmonic distortion, and EMI/EMC interference mechanisms.
- Define grounding, bonding, and shielding strategies across the facility and equipment stack.
- Establish architectural guidance for the segregation of noisy and sensitive loads.
- Define UPS architecture and operating strategies for different load classes.
- Partner with electronics teams to provide equipment-level input regarding facility power constraints.
- Support system-level trade studies involving efficiency, reliability, and power integrity.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Significant industry experience in electrical power architecture or infrastructure design
- Strong understanding of facility electrical systems, switchgear, transformers, and UPS systems
- Deep knowledge of electrical noise mechanisms, harmonic distortion, and EMI/EMC principles
- Experience translating system-level requirements into actionable facility specifications
- Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Electrical Engineering
- Experience with power distribution in data centers or mission-critical facilities
- Experience designing infrastructure for semiconductor, cryogenic, or scientific systems
- Deep expertise in power quality analysis and EMI/EMC mitigation
- Experience guiding PCB/system electronics teams on grounding and shielding
