About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations management of the Klamath Cogeneration Project to ensure safe, environmentally compliant, and fuel-efficient performance.
- Supervise, train, and develop a team of approximately 10 multi-skilled plant operations technicians.
- Coordinate with Asset Management and Trading staff to implement daily production targets and optimize plant availability.
- Manage plant safety programs and ensure compliance with all environmental permits and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the plant-wide computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and coordinate with outside contractors and OEMs.
- Lead the operations coordination for both scheduled and unscheduled outages.
- Monitor facility heat rate and equipment performance, performing cost-benefit analyses for plant betterment projects.
- Participate in a rotating manager-on-call schedule.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of management experience in power generation or a related field.
- Proven experience in power plant combined cycle operations.
- Strong expertise in performing root cause analysis for plant and equipment issues.
- Demonstrated skills in contract management and administration.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a high-urgency environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7 to 10+ years of power plant experience.
- Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Experience with plant and turbine distributed control systems.
- Knowledge of boiler and cooling tower water chemistry.
- Familiarity with environmental permits, regulations, and compliance reporting.
