Principal Planner, Transportation Technology and Operations

Responsibilities

• Identify and facilitate the integration of transportation technology into agency planning initiatives and capital investments
• Conduct research and manage planning studies related to emerging technologies such as ITS, connected and autonomous vehicles, and micro-mobility
• Develop strategies to improve regional mobility and accessibility while addressing equity and sustainability concerns
• Coordinate with external stakeholders including NJDOT, NJ TRANSIT, and other regional interagency committees
• Prepare technical reports, memos, and presentations for internal and external audiences
• Support Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSMO) strategies within the congestion management process

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, planning, public policy, or a related field
• 3 years of applied experience in transportation technology and its application to planning practices
• Proficiency in Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
• Strong database management skills and familiarity with analytical tools
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in transportation planning, public policy, engineering, or a related technical field
• Specialization in transportation technology planning
• Demonstrated experience in program management and organizational leadership
