About the role
Responsibilities
- Own full-chip and block-level physical verification signoff, including DRC, LVS, ERC, PERC, and antenna/ESD checks for complex SoCs.
- Drive tape-out readiness by managing PV schedules, tracking violations, and delivering clean GDS.
- Develop and optimize PV flows and scripts using tools like Calibre or ICV to improve performance and robustness.
- Define and enhance PERC and reliability rule checks (ESD, EOS, EM-related constraints) in collaboration with reliability and analog teams.
- Manage floorplanning and power grid planning to minimize PV iterations and avoid late-stage violations.
- Debug complex DRC/LVS/PERC violations, including FinFET-specific rules such as restrictive spacing, coloring, and EUV/multi-patterning constraints.
- Partner with CAD teams to validate new technology nodes, rule decks, and DFM flows.
- Mentor junior and senior engineers on PV best practices and root-cause analysis methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field.
- 10–15+ years of experience in physical verification for complex ASIC/SoC designs.
- Proven experience owning DRC/LVS/PERC signoff for at least one 5nm (or sub-7nm) production tape-out in a FinFET process.
- Deep expertise with industry-standard PV tools such as Siemens Calibre or Synopsys IC Validator.
- Hands-on experience with Cadence Virtuoso-PV tool integration.
- Proficiency in scripting languages including Python, Perl, Tcl, or Unix shell for automation.
- Strong understanding of physical design, including place & route, timing closure, and power integrity.
