About the role
Responsibilities
- Design and develop optical modules
- Architect optical systems, sub-systems, and components to support neutral atom computers
- Lead interdisciplinary teams through the full product development lifecycle from concept to production
- Advance engineering practices through independent research and problem-solving
- Coordinate with R&D teams to translate scientific advances into products
- Troubleshoot technical issues at headquarters and customer locations
Requirements
- Master's degree in optics, optical engineering, applied physics, or a related field
- 10-15 years of non-academic professional experience
- Deep knowledge of free-space optics, lens design, fiber optics, lasers, and opto-mechanics
- Experience in optical system characterization and testing
- Proven track record of bringing complex optical systems from concept to production
- Expertise in Mechanical CAD (Inventor, Solidworks), PDM, and PLM software
- Expertise in optical simulation software such as Zemax
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with quantum computing, specifically neutral atom technology
- Professional experience in commercial product development and off-site deployment
