Principal, NGS Laboratory Implementation & Operations

Responsibilities

• Represent Laboratory Operations to define requirements and ensure NGS assays are designed for successful commercial implementation
• Lead the transition of assays from development into clinical laboratory workflows, ensuring scalability and production readiness
• Collaborate with leadership to integrate new assays into existing systems, workflows, and processes
• Drive assay deployment and scale-up by identifying operational gaps, capacity constraints, and process inefficiencies
• Provide operational oversight during early production to ensure assay performance, stability, and quality standards
• Ensure all implementation and scale-up activities comply with CAP/CLIA regulatory and quality requirements
• Serve as a subject matter expert on NGS deployment and laboratory integration best practices

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 12 years of experience in molecular diagnostics, NGS, or clinical laboratory operations
• Proven experience operationalizing and scaling assays from development into clinical or commercial settings
• Extensive knowledge of NGS workflows and experience in CAP/CLIA regulated environments
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage complex projects
• Ability to travel up to 10% as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in a relevant scientific or engineering field
• Direct experience with large-scale NGS assay deployment and commercialization
• Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma
