Principal Network Automation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of automation engineers to develop and maintain network automation tools and systems
• Develop and maintain software tools for network automation, monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code deployments
• Design and implement network configurations and security policies within a global banking environment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize network activities, including governance, compliance, audit, and reporting
• Document technical processes and maintain version control for all automation workflows
• Balance technical execution with business objectives to meet strategic organizational goals

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or Networking
• Strong proficiency in coding languages including Python, Java, JavaScript, and Go (Golang)
• Deep core networking knowledge (routing & switching, load balancing, firewalls, DNS, etc.)
• Experience with DevOps practices and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
• Proven ability to analyze logs, metrics, and performance data
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within a financial institution and understanding banking processes
• Leadership experience setting strategic goals and managing technical teams
• Familiarity with network vendors such as Cisco, Fortinet, F5, Infoblox, Gigamon, or NetBrain
• Experience with SD-WAN, Cloud technologies, and VPN technologies
• CCNA or CCNP certification
