About the role
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end network architecture for AI data centers, including spine-leaf fabrics, RDMA, and inter-campus WAN design
- Design and evolve SDN control plane architectures for programmable underlay and overlay networking
- Define Kubernetes networking including CNI selection, network policies, and BGP peering architecture
- Architect Intent-Based Networking (IBN) frameworks and establish GitOps-driven network provisioning
- Build and own the Network Source of Truth (SoT) strategy, including IPAM, DCIM, and CMDB
- Design automation workflows using tools like Ansible, Nornir, or Terraform
- Define streaming telemetry architecture and closed-loop remediation pipelines
- Establish engineering standards, lead architecture reviews, and mentor senior network engineers
Requirements
- 12+ years of progressive network engineering and architecture experience
- 5+ years in a leadership role
- Proven track record designing networks with 500+ switches in multi-campus environments
- Expert-level routing knowledge (BGP, EVPN/VXLAN, OSPF, ECMP, BFD)
- Experience with SDN controllers and network programmability (NETCONF/YANG, RESTCONF, gNMI)
- Proficiency in Kubernetes networking (Calico, Cilium, Flannel, Multus)
- Understanding of RDMA and HPC networking (RoCEv2, InfiniBand, PFC, ECN)
- Strong software engineering fundamentals (Git, CI/CD, Terraform, Ansible)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience at a hyperscaler, AI cloud provider, or large-scale co-location operator
- Hands-on experience with SONiC OS, P4, or SRv6
- Open source contributions to networking projects (SONiC, NetBox, FRR, Cilium)
- Familiarity with formal network verification tools like Batfish
- Relevant certifications such as CCIE or JNCIE
