Principal Navigation/IMU Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support programs with IMU selection, testing, and performance analysis
• Develop and document IMU requirements and test plans
• Interface with IMU suppliers to ensure technical commitments are met
• Perform root-cause failure investigations and peer reviews of designs
• Work within a multi-disciplined Integrated Product Team (IPT) to provide guidance and navigation support
• Communicate technical status, progress, and accomplishments to leadership and government customers

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience (Advanced degrees may substitute for years of experience)
• Strong understanding of Electrical Engineering fundamentals, subsystems, and systems engineering
• Experience in IMU selection and requirements development
• U.S. citizenship is required
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in missile systems, including GPS, guidance computers, and seekers
• Experience with Fiber Optic gyros, Ring Laser Gyros, and MEMS gyros
• Experience with mechanical and solid-state accelerometers
• Knowledge of DOD hardware development processes and design gates
• Experience in systems engineering and architecture
