About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) capabilities to support mission-level concept exploration, tactics development, and autonomous behaviors.
- Create simulators and emulators for sensors, communications, movement, tactical behaviors, weapon effects, and command and control.
- Partner with product teams to accelerate the development of AI/ML and Mission Autonomy capabilities through advanced modeling.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary subject matter experts to simulate sub-system, system, and system-of-systems dynamics.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers within the team.
Requirements
- STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in MS&A engineering or related technical areas.
- Proficiency in compiled or scripted languages such as C++, Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Experience with simulation tools like AFSIM, MAK VR-Forces, Presagis, SIMDIS, or OneSAF.
- Experience with configuration management and collaboration tools including Git, Bitbucket, Jira, and Confluence.
- Experience mentoring or leading individuals or small technical groups.
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GIS standards and tools (ESRi ArcGIS, Global Mapper, Cesium, etc.).
- Experience with 3D modeling standards and tools (Blender, Creator, OpenFlight, etc.).
- Experience integrating distributed Live, Virtual, & Constructive (LVC) simulation components.
- Experience designing and developing AI/ML systems and architectures.
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine or other computer graphics engines.
- Knowledge of RADAR, Electro Optical (EO), or Infrared (IR) sensing systems.
- Familiarity with aerospace/aeronautical systems and protocols such as IEEE 1278 DIS or IEEE 1516 HLA.
