About the role
Responsibilities
- Bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI research and silicon design by defining hardware specifications for massive transformer models.
- Translate bleeding-edge AI and RAN algorithms (Transformers, GQA, RoPE) into precise hardware specifications and SDK lowering requirements.
- Define model partitioning and tiling strategies to map multi-hundred-million parameter models across heterogeneous compute fabrics.
- Own and maintain canonical reference implementations in JAX and PyTorch to serve as the program's "Source of Truth."
- Project performance using cycle-accurate simulators and SystemC models to guide high-stakes silicon tape-out decisions.
Requirements
- Deep mastery of Transformer architectures and how design choices impact hardware execution profiles.
- Expertise in hardware-aware machine learning, including cache behavior, memory hierarchies (HBM/SRAM), and SIMD/VLIW execution.
- Advanced proficiency in JAX (strongly preferred) or PyTorch, specifically regarding graph capture, XLA compilation, and StableHLO.
- Experience with performance modeling using SystemC, Transaction-Level Modeling, or custom cycle-accurate simulation frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience applying AI to telecommunications workloads such as channel estimation, beamforming, or interference management.
- Understanding of the compiler journey from high-level compute graphs to hardware-bound execution sequences (MLIR).
- Hands-on experience with numeric sensitivity, including fixed-point quantization and complex-valued AI models.
Benefits
- Competitive salary and comprehensive health benefits, including multiple medical and dental plan options.
- Financial security through the Ericsson US 401(k) Plan with company matching and access to a Stock Purchase Plan.
- Generous time off, including a minimum of 15 days of accrued vacation, 11 annual holidays, and 80 hours of sick time.
- Paid parental and maternity leave (up to 16 weeks for maternity and 6 weeks for parental/adoption leave).
About the Company
