Principal Mission Designer

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver the end-to-end structure for mission-based content, specifically the Story Quest replacement for MCOC
• Own design documentation including objectives, pacing, mission flow, progression, and narrative integration
• Establish and document production processes, including tooling, templates, and handoffs between disciplines
• Partner with Encounter Designers, Narrative, and Production teams to translate mission intent into engaging gameplay
• Codify mission design methodology through written principles and documentation to mentor the team
• Iterate and tune content based on internal playtests, player data, and success metrics

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in game design, narrative design, or a related field
• 7+ years of game design experience, specifically with FTP (free-to-play) properties
• Proven expertise in mission, quest, level, or campaign-structure design
• Deep knowledge of Marvel Contest of Champions (MCOC) economy, gameplay, and social features
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related spreadsheet software
• Strong ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with interdisciplinary teams
