About the role
Responsibilities
- Define, implement, and maintain safety and effectiveness (S&E) requirements for current and future medical products.
- Lead the design, execution, and interpretation of feasibility, clinical, and human factors studies.
- Serve as a key scientific authority across cross-functional teams including R&D, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, and Quality.
- Identify key trends and unmet needs in science, technology, medical practice, and health economics.
- Develop clinical test plans to meet regulatory and marketing needs for new and improved products.
- Provide clinical support for marketed products, including training, troubleshooting, and post-market surveillance.
- Design clinical studies and lead scientific investigations, feasibility assessments, and due-diligence evaluations.
- Prepare technical reports, abstracts, and journal manuscripts for presentation at scientific meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) degree in a health-related field (e.g., Biochemistry, Chemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or Nursing).
- 2+ years of experience in clinical laboratory, clinical research, or a related healthcare field.
- ASCP MLS certification (or equivalent) or advanced training/board certification in specialized clinical laboratory disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in a relevant scientific field.
- Experience working within a medical device, IVD, or pharmaceutical company.
