Principal Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and excellence within the Rotating Engineering Group for complex multidisciplinary projects.
• Develop, check, and maintain specifications, data sheets, technical bids, and purchase orders.
• Resolve technical queries from vendors regarding various compressor and pump equipment.
• Coordinate project requirements with other disciplines, project staff, and clients.
• Support work share activities with overseas offices on rotating equipment deliverables.
• Assist with hour estimation, TIC estimates, and personnel loading for the rotating engineering scope.
• Interface regularly with Project Management and customers to ensure project alignment.
• Maintain quality deliverables throughout the equipment procurement process.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent degree.
• Minimum of 8 years of Rotating (Compressor and Pump) Engineering experience within the Petroleum-Chemical industry.
• At least 5 years of experience with other mechanical or packaged equipment.
• Strong working knowledge of API 617, 614, 670, and 671.
• Emphasis on reciprocating compressor experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant professional engineering registration.
• Working knowledge of API, ANSI, NEMA, and ASTM specifications.
