Principal Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the design, planning, and execution of mechanical engineering aspects for major water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to mechanical engineers and project teams to develop team excellence.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and team members.
• Lead mechanical design development throughout the project lifecycle, including P&IDs, valve schedules, pumps, tanks, process equipment, and pipework.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary design teams including Electrical, Civil, Geotech, and Process engineers.
• Ensure compliance with client asset standards and engage in technical discussions regarding best practices and standards waivers.
• Collaborate with commercial, operational, and construction teams to develop efficient, practical, and safe solutions.
• Positively engage with clients, managing relationships through a "one-team" approach.

Requirements

• Chartered Mechanical Engineer or above.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of the water and/or wastewater industry.
• Deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, practices, and standards relating to process industries.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple design tasks and meet strict deadlines.
