Principal Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the design, planning, and execution of mechanical engineering aspects for water and wastewater infrastructure projects
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to mechanical engineers and project teams to develop team excellence
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and team members
• Lead mechanical design development throughout the project lifecycle, including P&IDs, valve schedules, pumps, tanks, process equipment, and pipework
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary design teams including Electrical, Civil, Geotech, and Process engineers
• Ensure compliance with client asset standards and engage in technical discussions regarding best practices and standards waivers
• Collaborate with commercial, operational, and construction teams to develop efficient, practical, and safe solutions
• Positively engage with clients using a one-team approach to support their strategic aims

Requirements

• Chartered Mechanical Engineer (or above)
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Strong knowledge of the water and/or wastewater industry
• Deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, practices, and standards relating to process industries
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple design tasks and meet strict deadlines
