About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead project progress through weekly design meetings, formal reviews, and key milestone workshops such as SID and HAZOP
- Oversee the development, quality assurance, and finalisation of engineering drawings, design reports, and client-specific deliverables
- Manage the production of specialist reports, including Site Access, Tenure, and Environmental & Planning (STEP) documentation
- Collaborate with delivery partners, suppliers, and subcontractors to prepare specifications and review technical submissions
- Work within multidisciplinary teams to define and select best-value technical solutions aligned with client outcomes
- Identify risks and opportunities, driving mitigation strategies and maximising project value
- Manage design budgets, schedules, and change processes, including earned value tracking
- Mentor and develop junior engineers to foster a high-performing technical environment
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients
- Provide technical input into bid pursuits to support business growth
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
- CPEng and RPEQ certification (or ability to obtain within 6-12 months)
- Proven experience delivering and leading water and wastewater projects, preferably within design and construct (D&C) environments
- Broad understanding of wastewater treatment processes, wastewater networks, and water networks
- Extensive knowledge of local and national standards, including Water Services Association of Australia (WSAA)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
- Excellent communication and written skills with the ability to maintain strong client relationships
