Principal Material and Process Engineer

Responsibilities

• Test a wide array of materials for compliance with drawings, specifications, and program applications
• Work in a wet lab environment, adhering to all safety procedures and common lab protocols regarding hazardous chemicals
• Write scientific reports using generated data to support technical dispositions
• Serve as part of a rapid response team to address factory manufacturing process interruptions

Requirements

• STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)
• Minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience in assembly or manufacturing
• Experience with mechanical assembly and/or technical datasheets
• U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a STEM field
• Strong technical writing skills
• Experience with Design of Experiment (DOE) troubleshooting
• Experience with mechanical test methods (e.g., tensile, compression, hardness, viscosity) or chemical analysis methods (e.g., FT-IR, DSC, TMA, SEM)
• Demonstrated multi-discipline collaboration and problem-solving skills using data-driven approaches
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment
