About the role
Responsibilities
- Execute operational and strategic efforts focused on product quality improvement and manufacturing control plan (MCP) auditing within the Plastics COE/APF.
- Drive site supplier quality processes, including SCAR, NCR, and billback management.
- Collaborate with factory operations to identify and eliminate root causes of issues using Lean manufacturing concepts and AI tools.
- Facilitate the MCP process by creating, communicating, and publishing documentation for assigned manufacturing areas.
- Manage the testing process, including data analysis to drive yield, COQ, and scrap metrics.
- Provide technical ownership for the development and implementation of factory quality measurement systems such as gauging, 3D scanning, and CMM systems.
- Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) to monitor data trends and lead corrective actions.
- Guide New Product Introduction (NPI) teams regarding manufacturing process capabilities for new designs and geometries.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- 7+ years of experience in manufacturing quality, NPI quality projects, and process improvement.
- Proven experience with Quality Management System (QMS) development and implementation.
- Strong knowledge of PFMEA / FMEA and its linkage to Manufacturing Control Plans.
- Proficiency in data interpretation for high-volume, short-cycle consumer product manufacturing.
- Advanced computer literacy, including Excel, Minitab, and AI tools like MS Copilot.
- Strong project management, communication, and facilitation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Six Sigma or Master Molder Certification.
- Experience with injection molding or highly automated manufacturing environments.
- Strong working knowledge of APQP and PPAP.
- Experience in the appliance industry or water filtration.
- Previous quality leadership experience.
