About the role
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage capital equipment procurement projects, including specification development, supplier selection, and factory layout development.
- Drive equipment reliability and maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through robust design and installation.
- Own program metrics including capital equipment and tooling budgets, schedules, reliability, quality, and labor targets.
- Lead the use of Production Preparation Process (3P) and Lean manufacturing principles to develop equipment and processes.
- Ensure all equipment complies with Industry and Governmental Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) standards.
- Implement Human Organizational Performance (HOP) principles to prioritize operator health and safety.
- Support business initiatives including Bill of Process (BoP), Ergonomic Design, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on technical experience.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Proven success in managing capital equipment projects from supplier selection through installation and qualification.
- Expertise in Lean manufacturing principles.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to engage with teams ranging from shop floor operators to senior management.
- Demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines and budgets for construction and equipment projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in appliance manufacturing, specifically within high-volume assembly or refrigeration.
- Experience managing large-scale manufacturing and engineering projects.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, develop, and grow a skilled engineering team.
- Experience implementing or operating under a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) system.
- Solid understanding of operational plant finance.
