Principal Machine Learning Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build and model digital products and platforms to implement AI, ML, and Generative AI solutions across discovery, manufacturing, and commercial analytics
• Collaborate with Technical Architects, Product Managers, UX designers, and engineers to design secure, scalable, and user-centric products
• Experiment with Large Language Models (LLM), Generative AI, Foundational Models, and both supervised and unsupervised learning
• Design and develop solutions in collaboration with Data Architects and Business SMEs to meet fast-paced business needs
• Participate in sprint planning and provide technical implementation estimations
• Embed responsible-AI and security-by-design controls into all development processes

Requirements

• 11–15 years of experience in Data Science or Machine Learning, including managing structured and unstructured data
• Doctorate in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
• Strong background in Deep Learning, Machine Learning, NLP, and Data Mining
• Proficiency in statistics and building cloud-scale systems
• Experience leveraging cloud platforms, with a preference for AWS
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Generative AI, LLMs, Foundational Models, and RAG
• Familiarity with Python packages such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, Scikit-learn, and Pandas
• Knowledge of programming languages including C, C++, Java, SQL, or NoSQL
• Prior exposure to AI environments within the pharma or life sciences industries
• Strong understanding of Responsible AI and model validation principles
