Principal Linux System Administrator

Responsibilities

• Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Microsoft Windows environment.
• Develop, implement, and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments to support critical classified programs.
• Troubleshoot technical problems of moderate to high complexity, including hardware and operating system integration.
• Manage Linux fundamentals and Windows Server internals, including Ansible, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, and Active Directory.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide technical documentation.
• Manage data RAID, backup technologies, and software application installations for end users.

Requirements

• University degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (or an Advanced Degree with 3 years of experience).
• U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
• Proven experience with Linux operating systems.
• Experience with at least one of the following: LDAP, Active Directory, VMware, MySQL, or network administration.
• Ability to obtain DoD 8140/8570 certification (such as CompTIA Security+ CE) within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance.
• Extensive experience with VMware (vCenter, vSphere, ESX).
• Experience with data storage technologies including NAS and SAN.
• Knowledge of NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS, or DoD/RMF.
• Experience with High Performance Computing (HPC) in a Linux environment.
• Scripting experience and familiarity with Microsoft WSUS, MECM, or Exchange.
