Principal Layout Designer

Responsibilities

• Perform layout of analog integrated circuits using CMOS and SOI technologies in accordance with design rules
• Execute block level, macro level, and top level floor planning, assembly, and verification
• Work closely with design engineers to provide high-quality layout in a timely manner using Cadence and Calibre tools
• Lead peers and teams on complex blocks and top-level assembly
• Mentor team members to promote high-quality work and share knowledge of new tools and features
• Participate in project management tasks including planning, scope identification, and validation of deliverables
• Create technical documentation, "how-to" guides, and presentations for engineering peers

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent field
• Minimum 6+ years of experience in integrated circuit layout
• Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso, Layout XL, SKILLCAD, Calibre, and Unix environments
• Strong understanding of basic electrical properties and principles
• Advanced knowledge of layout dependent effects regarding device and process matching techniques
• Strong knowledge of Latch-up prevention and ESD protection schemes
• Excellent communication and verbal presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SKILL programming or scripting
• Familiarity with Place and Route (P&R) methods
• Previous experience preparing layout data for foundry release
