Principal Lab Technician

Responsibilities

• Transport and process clinical trial biological specimens using established laboratory techniques, including sterile technique, PBMC, and RNA/DNA extraction/isolation.
• Acquire, cryopreserve, process, catalog, and ship tissues, body fluids, and other biological specimens.
• Document specimen collection and processing information accurately in forms and the OnCore system to ensure proper reimbursement.
• Review laboratory documentation for completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
• Train incoming and junior technicians in research procedures, laboratory safety, and equipment usage.
• Maintain compliance with GCP, GLP, FDA, NIH, and IATA guidelines for bio-specimen handling and storage.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in a relevant science field.
• Two (2) years of experience working in a laboratory environment.
• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding).
• Ability to work PM hours on a regular and permanent basis.
• Ability to perform occasional overtime as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and work in a lab environment with potential exposure to hazardous chemicals and infectious diseases.
