Principal Java Software Developer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and implement complex software systems and operating system components
• Lead large-scale engineering projects and assume end-to-end ownership of solutions within an Agile SCRUM environment
• Mentor, coach, and review the work of associate software engineers
• Partner with product owners to determine new features, user stories, and technical requirements
• Participate in code reviews, Agile ceremonies, and establish coding standards and engineering policies
• Implement DevOps practices, including managing products from inception to sunset and responding to production incidents
• Create technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, implementation guides, and detailed specifications

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related science and math discipline
• 10-15 years of technical experience, including 5+ years of web services development
• Proficiency in Java 8+ and experience developing REST APIs using the Spring Boot framework
• Strong knowledge of JPA, Hibernate, and JDBC
• Experience with relational databases and version control management (e.g., Git, Bitbucket)
• Hands-on experience with Azure cloud architecture
• Proficiency with Maven, SonarQube, and unit testing (JUnit)
• Experience using Agile management tools such as JIRA and Confluence

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python or NodeJS
• Knowledge of GCP (Google Cloud Platform)
• Experience with log management and APM tools like Splunk or Datadog
• Familiarity with Bootstrap or Material-UI design
• Experience with front-end test automation and behavior-driven testing techniques
