Principal IO Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Innovate, design, optimize, and verify high-speed IO and clocking circuits for new DRAM products
• Apply high-speed circuit design techniques to enhance performance evaluation of IO and clocking data paths
• Develop accurate modeling, analysis, and simulation methodologies to capture key circuit performance metrics
• Collaborate with Product Engineering and SI teams to correlate silicon performance with simulation results
• Partner with process integration and transistor modeling teams on next-generation process nodes

Requirements

• MSEE with 10+ years of industry experience or BSEE with 12+ years of industry experience
• Expertise in analog and mixed-signal circuit design
• Proficiency with UNIX and CADENCE design environments (simulation, schematic entry, SPF extraction)
• Strong understanding of device physics and basic CMOS processing techniques
• Ability to supervise high-speed circuit layout to minimize parasitic impacts
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts

Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in high-speed transmitter, receiver, and clocking circuit design with silicon success
• Experience in channel modeling, characterization, and equalization techniques
• Knowledge of transceiver noise, timing budget analysis, and Signal Integrity (SI)
• Ability to mentor and coach early-career engineers
• Fluency in scripting languages such as PERL or Python and experience with AI/ML usage
