Principal IC Layout Engineer

Responsibilities

• Serve as the physical design lead for high-speed and high-performance analog, mixed-signal, and digital products, including ADCs, DACs, PLLs, and transceivers
• Develop and integrate complex chips and subsystems using advanced CMOS FinFET technologies (16nm and below)
• Drive floorplan development at the block, subsystem, and full-chip levels for complex designs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DFT, clock, timing, power integrity, and analog designers to ensure design closure
• Define and implement design methodologies, best practices, and automation workflows
• Lead physical verification processes including DRC, LVS, ERC, density checks, extraction, and EM/IR analysis for final tapeout signoff
• Mentor layout teams and manage project schedules to ensure timely delivery of high-quality milestones

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or a related field
• 10+ years of full custom IC layout experience
• Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso, including strong VXL expertise
• Deep understanding of LVS, DRC, antenna checks, and associated verification/debug methodologies
• Demonstrated technical authority and leadership in the IC layout industry
