Principal HVAC Engineer

Responsibilities

• Determine methods and solutions for complex engineering problems, applying advanced techniques and analysis to meet project objectives.
• Lead the design, selection, and procurement of HVAC equipment, including centrifugal chiller compressors, air-cooled chillers, package/DX units, and fans.
• Develop discipline Basis of Design and equipment selection philosophies for offshore oil and gas projects.
• Prepare technical specifications, mechanical datasheets, and requisitions, and conduct technical bid evaluations.
• Support business development by contributing to technical proposals, cost estimation, and execution strategies.
• Participate in client workshops covering design reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, constructability, and reliability.
• Provide technical supervision and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
• Ensure all technical work complies with international codes, standards, regulatory requirements, and HSE management practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Expert knowledge in the design and selection of HVAC equipment specifically for offshore oil and gas projects.
• Extensive experience in the Detailed Design and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) phases.
• Strong understanding of international codes, standards, and statutory regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint).
• Proven ability to manage third-party vendors and support procurement activities, including FAT and inspection release.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working on projects within the Middle East.
• Specialized expertise in risk management or quality management.
• Experience in project leadership and managing multidisciplinary coordination.
