About the role
Responsibilities
- Design and analyze Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA) for avionics computers, including processors, memory, and interfaces
- Perform schematic capture of digital and analog mixed-signal electrical circuit designs
- Oversee Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout and ensure design for manufacturability (DFM), testability (DFT), and cost (DTC)
- Utilize lab equipment for the integration testing of hardware designs
- Work with Avionics I/O protocols such as Ethernet, ARINC 429, MIL-STD 1553, and PCIe
- Mentor and delegate technical tasks to less experienced engineers
Requirements
- STEM degree and minimum 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with minimum 5 years of experience
- Hands-on troubleshooting experience with hardware
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- U.S. citizenship is required for access to program information
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the Defense or Aerospace industry
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC, lightning protection circuits, and testing
- Proficiency with electrical circuit simulation and PCB layout software tools
- Experience with avionics regulatory and certification requirements (TSO, DO-160, DO-254, or MIL-STD-461)
- Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and drive corrective actions
