Principal Hardware Application Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain hardware for processor-based PCIe connection and storage integrated circuits and reference designs
• Collaborate with FAEs, sales, and customer engineering teams to define requirements and assist with new product design wins
• Provide design review services and hands-on support for initial system bring-up, board-level debug, and production transition
• Root cause customer issues independently or by leading cross-functional teams
• Develop and review customer-facing documentation, including user guides, technical training, and application notes
• Drive customer requirements through the project management process
• Travel domestically and internationally as needed to support customer sites and debug complex systems

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 10 years of experience in hardware engineering or a related field
• Strong expertise in system and hardware development, including board-level and system-level debug and bring-up
• Knowledge of high-speed signal integrity and board design
• Proficiency with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, and logic analyzers
• Proven project management experience
• Strong technical leadership, communication, and presentation skills
• Fluency in spoken and written English

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in PCIe, CXL, and SAS hardware design
• Familiarity with storage networking protocols including SCSI, SAS, SATA, iSCSI, and Ethernet
• Experience working with Tier-1 customers in the storage and server industry
• Experience with RISC-based embedded processors (MIPS preferred)
• Fundamental understanding of RAID and storage architecture
