About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and prototype innovative multi-domain system architectures and real-time embedded systems
- Develop real-time control system architectures to affect the performance of physical systems
- Create sophisticated detection, classification, localization, and tracking (DCLT) algorithms for high-noise environments
- Support the development and testing of experimental testbeds for real-time sensor processing, quantum information, and integrated photonic systems
- Implement and evaluate real-time systems in realistic mission scenarios and conduct operational analysis
Requirements
- STEM degree and minimum 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree and minimum 5 years of experience
- Professional experience in FPGA development processes including RTL design, verification, timing analysis, board bring up, and validation
- Strong understanding of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) fundamentals and their implementation on FPGAs
- Experience with high-speed interfaces such as Ethernet, serial point-to-point communication (sFPDP, SPI), and high-speed memory (HBM2, DDR)
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as bash or Tcl
- U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SoC boards running bare metal code or configuring embedded Linux (e.g., Petalinux)
- Experience with RFSoC boards and high-speed analog signal generation and digitization
- Familiarity with building Linux drivers for FPGA peripherals
- Experience with high-level synthesis tools, including BlueSpec System Verilog
- Software development experience in C/C++ and Python
