Principal Fire Protection Engineer

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical advisor for fire protection, fire and gas detection, and process safety studies for large-scale oil and gas and infrastructure projects.
• Develop fire water basis of design reports, demand calculations, and prepare P&IDs for fire water networks and foam water systems.
• Perform steady-state hydraulic calculations and transient analysis for fire water, foam water, and water spray systems.
• Prepare Fire & Gas philosophies, detection layouts, block diagrams, cause and effect diagrams, and 3-D mapping studies.
• Prepare emergency escape routes, safety sign layouts, and safety equipment layouts (SCBA, SABA, extinguishers, etc.).
• Participate in and review safety studies including HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, BRA, QRA, and consequence modeling.
• Prepare technical bid evaluations, equipment data sheets, specifications, and MTOs.
• Attend 3D model reviews and develop process safety discipline budgets.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Mechanical, or Fire Engineering (or a related field).
• Minimum 15 years of engineering experience, specifically within the Oil & Gas, Hydrocarbons, or Infrastructure industries.
• Certified NFPA and Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
• Proficiency in English, both oral and written.
• Experience with hydraulic software such as Pipenet or Elite.
• Strong knowledge of International Fire Code, NFPA Standards, and Saudi Aramco engineering standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS).
• Experience with HAZOP, Functional Safety, and SCE.
