Principal Financial Analyst

Responsibilities

• Develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for Portland Operations, performing variance analysis to identify key business drivers
• Manage monthly accounting responsibilities, including journal entry preparation, spend/headcount reviews, and reporting results to management
• Conduct regular financial reviews with business partners to communicate performance and provide strategic insights
• Act as a subject matter expert to represent the business in financial decision-making processes
• Manage standard cost updates in SAP on an annual basis
• Support capital purchase requisitions and participate in ad hoc financial analysis and reporting
• Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, company policies, and operating procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive finance experience
• Proficiency with finance software such as SAP, Hyperion/Essbase, or similar tools
• Comprehensive knowledge of balance sheet transactions and their impact on income statements
• Advanced spreadsheet and computer skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong executive presence
• Ability to travel to Portland, OR, once or twice per quarter

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced professional credential such as an MBA, CPA, CMA, or CPIM
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and experience with standard cost/cost accounting
• Proven track record of implementing new processes and delivering value-added information to management
• Ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed, diverse, and fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
